Jill Nussinow, aka The Veggie Queen™, is a Registered Dietitian and culinary educator who has been teaching plant-based, whole foods cooking for 25 years, with an emphasis on nutrient-dense local, seasonal and organic ingredients. Since 1997, she has focused on teaching people about the joys of cooking vegetables and using the pressure cooker.
Jill has been on the culinary faculty of Santa Rosa Junior College for more than 20 years. She also teaches at cooking schools throughout the US, at festivals, events, farmer’s markets and more. Jill lives in Santa Rosa and regularly teaches cooking for the McDougall Program located there.
In addition to teaching cooking, Jill is an amateur forager: seeking out wild mushrooms, sea vegetables, wild plants and herbs where she lives. Jill has given talks and lectures on the nutritional, medicinal and culinary uses of mushrooms, herbs and spices to groups throughout the U.S.
